A Closer Look: Bodega x Todd Snyder "City Limits" Collection

Influenced by the role of hard wearing gear in the various frontiers of our lives throughout the city and the country, our “City Limits” collection with Todd Snyder lays the groundwork for a wardrobe not beholden to trends, but rather tapping into trend-resistant styles throughout time.
The Guide Jacket starts us off, laying the groundwork by taking an old school cut and revitalizing it with useful details that sit pretty when not in use. From its two-way zip and an array of chest, arm, and interior pockets, to the wool shell and wool/ poly speckled liner, every detail has been accounted for. Closed out with blue and green tree-line tie dye, this jacket has exploration on its mind.
But if you’ve ever spent time in a constantly changing environment, you’ll know a heavy wool number isn’t always the best tool in the toolbox. For a more in-between versatile option, the black Corduroy Welder Shacket is a fall-ready button down with outerwear potential. Fitted with jacket buttons on the placket and those wool elbow pad things on the back of the arms, this hybrid doesn’t play. Especially its reinforced chest paneling with a single snap front pocket. Serving as an extra layer of protection against the wind, this design adds tons of seamless storage potential making it the garment version of those magicians that keep pulling bandanas out their mouths. That's right, that could be you with all your miscellaneous junk.
Closing out the trio of top layers is the Reversible Down Bomber featuring two options in one. The autumnal wool camouflage side is outfitted with a D-ring hook and asymmetric snap closure, while the nylon olive nylon side is complete with a zip closure. Both options make use of patch pockets and a ribbed neck + cuffs combo. Think De Niro if The Deer Hunter had a sequel.
Seeing as sweater weather is fully underway out there, this expedition would not be complete without a rustic wool knit. And we made sure we pulled out all the stops for our take. The Train Fair Isle Crew in a pistachio shell tan brings a locomotive motif to the crossroads of warmth and style. Fitted with a classic crew neck design plus raglan sleeves and ribbed cuffs, it really checks all the boxes. The addition of the jacquard knit designs raises the bar, turning the rustic meter up to 11 without seeming too-played out. Because sure there are animal motifs out there but when have you ever seen an iron-horse front and center like this?
But stoking the coals of the knit world doesn't end there. Sometimes when the motif is so good, it's not really complete until you translate it into a pair of socks which - of course we did. What, were you going to wear your new Easy Moc boots sockless? Come on now.
Moving down the rail line, our Herringbone Cargo Pants in brown provide old school technicality that can adjust to any terrain. Fitted with adjustable waist and ankle strings in addition to a platoon of pockets - like the single front pleated banger, there is both zen and mad agility flowing through these cargos. Like they’re ready to adapt in the blink of an eye. Upgraded with herringbone twill fabric, here is a subtle way to add some lesser seen texture to the rotation.
But even the HBTs have to go in the wash at some point. No worries though, because everyone needs a warmer option when things cool down.
