  • In 1971, the Puma Clyde made history as the first-ever signature sneaker for an athlete. Walt 'Clyde' Frazier had three initial demands when he signed with Puma: the first flat basketball sneaker, a signature 'Clyde' on each shoe, and a new color variation for every NBA game he played. Puma fulfilled these requests, using over 390 colors on every pair of Puma Clydes worn by the NBA All-Star. The Clyde not only left a lasting impact on the basketball sneaker world but also became a staple in various subcultures, from dancers to skateboarders.

Next stop, Clyde Street! Puma continues their celebration of the Clyde with a collab with Extra Butter. In an ode to the NYC commuter, this iteration features an embossed subway token design on the tongue in addition to a subway line motif along the lateral heel.

    • Leather upper
    • Suede toe-cap
