The beginnings of X-Girl make for a who’s who of 1994 hipness; besides co-founders Kim Gordon and Daisy von Furth, names involved with X-Girl included Mike D, Chloe Sevigny, Sophia Coppola, Mike Mills and Spike Jonez. Even non sequitur anecdotes about the brand’s style inspiration manage to name drop thrifting in Thurston Moore’s suburban Connecticut town.

However the brand isn’t just a shrine to nostalgia but rather a significant part of street culture, helping to define the 90s and beyond. 

And yes they make socks.
