Two anniversaries converge as the celebration of Bodega’s 15th year in business meets the 60th birthday party of Dr. Martens’ 1461 model.
The introduction of the 1461 brought the air-cushioned PVC sole, welt stitching, and hard-wearing leather upper to a 3-eyelet, low-cut shoe. With the already legendary durability of the 1460 boot applied to a more casual shape, the 1461 immediately became another essential in the Docs arsenal. It was a particular favorite of UK postal workers, before making the leap to the British subculture tribes and fashion icon status.
The Bodega x Dr. Martens 1461 touches on faces of the shoe’s history, with a cultivated take on the shoe’s industrial past. A black, pebbled leather upper with nubuck accents, and a weather, oil, stain and abrasion resistant Tectuff toe overlay, offers a premium look and feel that won’t just withstand repeated use, but will develop a distinctly individual character with age. The fusion of aesthetics and functionality continues with the sole unit, with the anti-slip sure footing of Dr. Marten’s WinterGrip outsole outfitted in ‘smoke’ toned take on the traditional gum color.
Dr. Marten’s visual signatures, the classic, yellow welt stitching and ‘AirWair’ branded heel loop are joined by co-branded sock liners, and a subtle, debossed application of our ‘hidden in plain sight’ slogan.
While the Bodega x Dr. Martens 1461 was born of a special occasion, it’s built to last a lifetime.
