After being introduced in footwear capsules by collaborative partner Raf Simons, the trompe l'oeil [deceive the eye] technique makes its return to adidas footwear, as two three stripes classics are visually brought together in a single design. 

The ZX 8000 running shoe and the Superstar basketball shoe are two all-time favorites for sure, but in terms of performance goals and design eras, they are rather different from each other. The unexpected fusion sees an image of the Superstar's white leather, black striped, rubber shelltoe design applied to the late '80s, high tech silhouette of the ZX 8000. The combination of the Superstar's black and white simplicity and the eyecatching yellow midsole of the ZX 8000 represents the best of both of these adidas classics.
