x White Mountaineering GRID WEB
Yosuke Aizawa’s Tokyo Based label has brought the progressive, aesthetic sensibility of modern fashion to outdoors minded product since 2006. White Mountaineering blurs the solid lines between the artifical categories of "lifestyle" and "performance" with the notion that style, comfort and performance are not competing opposites, but a series of qualities, in a state of constantly leveling fluidity.
A new collaborative effort between Saucony and White Mountaineering applies this sensibility to the early millenial style of the Grid Web. A dynamic, speedy design featuring a mesh upper and distinctive 'web' TPU overlays, the Grid Web represented a streamlined departure from the chunkier tech running designs favored since the late '80s. White Mountaineering's take on the Grid Web combines its original, Y2K aura and utilitarian influences, with a neutral, tan base with vibrant purple, and orange accents, and subtle co-branding text.
