Charaf Tajer’s Casablanca label has been responsible for some of the most memorable interpretations of New Balance’s 1970s running inspired 327 silhouette to date, with the designer’s passion for tennis, in particular, exerting a strong influence over the proceedings.

The Casablanca Tennis Club concept serves up its first release of 2021, with a two-pack release featuring the 327, and the all-new 237 silhouette. Like the 327, the 237 is a revamped take on ‘70s running style, featuring a wedge shaped silhouette and foam midsole cushioning. The key differences come in the form of the overlay, outsole, and ‘N’ branding. On the 237, the overlays offer a more subdued, familiar appearance, while the wraparound treads of the 327 are traded for a subtler, herringbone design that extends just past the heel. The 237 retains the same outsize ‘N’ branding as the 327, but applies it to both the lateral and medial sides.

Both models feature the classic tennis club chic of white, perforated leather uppers, accented with the lush green of a perfect grass surface, and the softness of pastel pink and cream. The overlays and tongue label feature Casablanca jacquard monogram patterns, for a sophisticated, refined addition of extra color.
