The XC72 is based on a 1970s runner with elements of several other models appearing throughout, the sporty, mixed material design begins with a high-grade performance mesh that is covered on all sides by suede overlays of tonal red. Large white leather "N" branding appears in its traditional side paneled position, yet larger, like that of the 327. The shoe's focal points include an exaggerated tread that wraps around from the outsole to the toebox, and an oversized midsole and outsole which extends past the heel.
