For Spring/Summer 2020, Sasquatchfabrix apply the concept of かねあい - balance to their "high performance vandalism" melding of traditional Japanese influences and contemporary fashion sensibilities. In practical terms, the distinction between the two influences is less defined than ever before. 

Oppekepe Revival is inspired by the work of subversive actor/comedian Otojiro Kawakami. Taken from the chorus of a song performed at the end of a play regularly performed by Kawakami's troupe, Oppekepe roundly criticized the government and social elites for spending extravagantly on Western clothing and diversionary entertainment. So, all in all, surprisingly timely for a Meiji era actor.
