REVERSIBLE UTILITY KIMONO
REVERSIBLE UTILITY KIMONO
-
The brainchild of designer Hardy Blechman, Maharishi has produced its award-winning pacifist military designs since 1994. The roots of Maharishi, and offshoot label MHI, lay in Blechman’s former career in the military surplus clothing trade, which inspired Blechman to take the concept of repurposing to a new level.
This reversible kimono interchanges from an Olive OG-107 sateen cotton into AW21's woven Broken Arrow Powerloom. The woven cloth has been inspired by the fabric weaving arts of indigenous Americans and the peoples of the Central Highlands of Vietnam, known as the Montagnard. The powerloom cloth includes the broken arrow, widely used as a symbol of peace.
