Penny Hardaway's debut sneaker being the Air Max Penny is just unfair. Designed by Eric Avar who would later work on Kobe's line,  the Penny 1's raised the bar for any signature to come after it, including Hardaway's subsequent models, which he somehow managed to outdo each time.

But this is where it all started. With its generous 180 degree Air Max bubble and larger than life jeweled swoosh, it's easy to see why it was an instant hit.
