As the calendar pages flipped from the 1980s to the 90s, running shoes gradually started to make a departure from the tried and true space shuttle and wedge silhouettes, but it wasn’t until Nike loosed the Air Max 95 upon the world that the notion of what a running shoe should look like was fully changed. 

Innovative doesn't even begin to do justice to the Air Max 95. Groundbreaking is getting a little closer. At a time when the revolutionary reputation of Nike, and a lot of the public's demand for that matter, was focused on basketball, Sergio Lozano's anatomically inspired, forefoot Air cushioned design took the first steps into the 21st century, five years ahead of schedule. 

With 2020 marking the 25th anniversary of the Air Max 95, Nike has reissued the OG design that started it all. The layered mesh and suede, grey gradient uppers, volt accents and black sole have been reproduced, as closely as possible, to their original 1995 specificiations. What else is there to say about the chance to grab a piece of history?
