The brainchild of designer Hardy Blechman, Maharishi has produced its award winning pacifist military designs since 1994.  The roots of Maharishi, and offshoot label MHI, lay in Blechman’s former career in the military surplus clothing trade, which inspired Blechman to take the concept of repurposing to a new level.

While the first dozen or so spots on a list of essential headwear for military use will most assuredly be various helmets, when it comes to everyday wear, the knit beanie is pretty high on the list. Take a page from the logistics handbook, and prepare now for what you'll definitely need later.
