HARRIS TWEED M65 WOOL FIELD JACKET
-
The brainchild of designer Hardy Blechman, Maharishi has produced its award-winning pacifist military designs since 1994. The roots of Maharishi, and offshoot label MHI, lay in Blechman’s former career in the military surplus clothing trade, which inspired him to take the concept of repurposing to a new level.
The Field Jacket saw its inception during WWII and was the most effective for outfitting infantry. This was due to the vast available options for effective layering, being light enough to be worn over thin layers on warmer days as well as loose enough to fit over down or pile liners during long winters. Maharishi pays tribute to this classic. Cutting it to the original spec. whilst also referencing other pieces with distinct military origins such as the MA-1, through Flight Nylon panels and internal systems.
