Fun fact: the caterpillar, for a long time, was symbolic of pestilence, because of its associations with crop devouring. Fortunately, in more recent centuries, the fuzzy and colorful stripes of the caterpillar are more popular as the prelude to butterflies. Good thing too, otherwise naming a jacket after them wouldn't make as much sense.
