Nike ACG (All Conditions Gear) debuted in 1989 catering to a lesser known class of athletes who were skipping track practice to climb mountains and engage in other fringe sports for the time. Taking its own name quite literally, ACG brought a new look to the outdoor gear market but really built its reputation on the functionality and reliability of its pieces, cornerstones that the brand lives up to today, over 30 years later.
The ACG Air Mada is a perfect example. First introduced in 1994, the Mada's sleek premium leather upper with strategic paneling perfectly offsets the curved mid and out sole which features distinct lugs and a slight heel for added support. Although made for a different time, it forward thinking design puts it squarely in the zeitgeist of modern footwear.
