Creative Community: Colin Taniguchi (Pt.2)

We’re back with Bay Area artist Colin Taniguchi, known for his impeccable line work and graphics that balance playful chaos with just the right dose of mischief. His style hits that sweet spot between nostalgia and elaborated settings—and we’re here for it. In this follow-up interview, we catch up on what he’s been up to lately and introduce our latest drop: the new Bodega shop tee, designed by Colin himself.

B: What have you been up after our last interview?

C: Everything but nothing really. Still doing a lot of personal work for my upcoming projects & freelance jobs since I finally got a studio space.

B: We saw you do a capsule with Nike for the all star game back in February, how did that come about? Must’ve been special, especially since it was in the Bay

C: My friend P from Idle Worship lobbed me that after he heard Nike was looking for specifically bay area artists. That was really sick especially since it included peers that's really from here doing their thing. Most definitely a special one for me.

B: Do you have any up and coming projects we should have eyes out for?

C: I got a lot of work coming out with brands I can’t just name yet! I’m really looking forward to those dropping. Aside from that I mainly been focused on doing my own thing,
Late On Rent Graph-X.

B: Is there any other creative outlets you’ve branch out to, since then?

C: Not really, still sticking to the script.

B: We know you worked with the OG creative team to design the graphic but was there any specific influences or inspiration to the graphic or were you given complete freedom?

C: The team gave me a few references of what past shop tees have looked like & they gave me full artistic freedom from there. Always the best when I get the word to do whatever I feel like rocking. Much appreciation to those cats.

B: Have you been to any of the Bodega locations? If so do you have any specific memories or ties to them?

C: I actually have only been to the Los Angeles location. The one memory I do have is going there because me & my boys were in a show and they needed some gear for the night. Such a good trip.
