Last Wednesday at Bodega LA, the spirit of giving was alive and well with the help of Timberland's Traveling Boot Tour. Making multiple stops around the US, we were the final leg on their mission to spread some footwear-based cheer this holiday season. Needless to say, we couldn't be more stoked with the results.
Built around a promotion allowing customers to exchange pairs of gently used or unused footwear for a brand new pair of Timbs' signature 'Beef and Broccoli' Field Boots, it felt good knowing that the line that wrapped further and further around the block was all in the name of a good cause.
Speaking of which, with donations made to our charity partners Tree People, Happy Trails, and Hope in a Suitcase, not only were we able to collect hundreds of pairs for those in need, in addition to a hundred more on behalf of our team, rewarding people for making the effort to be sustainable is undoubtedly a step in the right direction for the industry.
But even with generosity and upcycling in the air, keeping folks entertained throughout the event meant we had big shoes to fill. Luckily we had a giant Timberland boot at our disposal, posted up in front of the store for people to take photos with or try to climb before getting yelled at. Guess it's true what they say, sometimes sleek, ultra-modern advertising is the way to go, other times a big-ass prop is all you need.
Keeping the ball rolling, look out for the next stop on the Students & Bodega Field Trip Tour - a tournament in LA happening very soon.
