This is an homage to Celia Cruz's SECOND early music exploration. It is said that Celia Cruz learned to sing as a very young girl by singing the religious songs that her neighbor taught her. They were songs of Lucumi/Santeria, a religion that blends West African and Roman Catholic elements. Here she returns to those roots with an album of songs in "Homage to the Saints". Some of the songs are more subdued than Celia Cruz is famous for, but many of them still have good dance rhythms. The first project did so well, they decided to make a second volume.
