Flash back to 1983.  The home video game market in the United States is devastated by a 1983 market crash fueled by rampant oversaturation, killing off the leading consoles of the time like Atari’s 2600 and 5200, Intellivision, and ColecoVision.  The resulting perception of home video gaming as a spent fad keeps a new, much more sophisticated, 8-bit system from Japan, the Famicom (short for Family Computer) from being released in the American market. Two years later, the rebranded for an American audience Nintendo Entertainment system becomes the name in home gaming. 

From technology, to fuel-efficient cars, and even dynamic, innovative pro wrestling, sometimes, things just happen in Japan first.  Fashion is no exception to this phenomenon. Sure, everyone knows to get all hyped up about Japanese denim now, but the next wave is always on the horizon. 

The “high performance vandalism” of Sasquatchfabrix blends modern streetwear, high fashion, and traditional Asian motifs into impeccably crafted, fantastically individualistic creations. It’s not what you see on the streets every day, but once upon a time, neither were Hondas and Toyotas.
