Adidas Originals has reunited with Yosuke aizawa’s pioneer Japanese label White Mountaineering for Fall Winter 2015 with a brand new collaborative footwear collection.

White Mountaineering’s specialty is taking a high fashion approach to cold climate gear. In Adidas, who have a legacy of making specialty footwear for any activity one can think of, from race walking, to all-weather golf shoes, to skittles (the lawn bowling game, and not the multicolored candy), White Mountaineering have found a collaborative partner who understands that when you make something that looks good enough, the intended purpose of the shoe becomes secondary. People will just want it.

This project takes three versatile silhouettes, the Nastase and the ZX Flux, and outfits them according to White Mountaineering’s standards. The ZX Flux features a flecktarn camouflage inspired print, in grey and black colorways that also suggest the rocky terrain of a climbing expedition, while the Nastase features solid colorways and a premium leather/suede upper. The incorporation of White Mountaineering’s geometric logo, on the lace jewel of the ZX Flux, and the heel tab of the Nastase are the kind of fine details that provide the finishing touch to a stylish re-imagination of the running and tennis silhouettes.
