ZIG KINETICA CONCEPT_TYPE1
Garbstore founder Ian Paley applies his penchant for reimagination and reconstruction to a brand new take on the energy returning technology of ZigTech, first introduced by Reebok in 2010. In this case, brand new is to be taken literally; Paley has completely revamped the construction, to the point where the Zig name is just about the only aspect that carries over from the original.
The energy returning properties of the Zig Kinetica are built around three features. Lightweight and responsive Floatride Fuel cushioning is surrounded by the Zig Energy Shell, which compresses to aid stability. Zig Energy Bands at the outsole expand and contract, for spring loaded energy return.
The technological concept is emphasized by Paley’s visual design. An upper derived from a selection of archival Reebok silhouettes is rendered in microvent mesh with seamless suede overlays, for an exposed look intended to emphasize the upper’s role in supporting the performance of the three pronged sole technology, while kinetic energy flow heat map color accents add a dynamic representation of Paley’s vision.
