x UBIQ CRAZY BYW 2.0
Inspired by the post World War II Sister Cities initiative, open minded, forward thinking perspectives are at the center of UBIQ’s new, collaborative effort with adidas Consortium. As both of UBIQ’s retail locations, Philadelphia and Georgetown, Washington D.C. are twinned with South Korean locales, Incheon and Seoul, respectively, the Crazy BYW 2.0 performance basketball shoe becomes a modernist canvas with specific design nods drawn from Korean culture.
A white, black and fluorescent green palette is applied to a mesh upper with a reflective underlay. Additional reflective effects at the shoe’s overlays and three stripes branding, make for a futuristic look inspired by day and night urban landscapes. Hangul typography at the tongue, and footbed accents and graphics in the traditional, obangsaek color spectrum provide a subtle application of the design’s Korean influences.
