Pleasures' expertise in alternative subcultures often results in their being pigeonholed with catch-all labels like "grunge" or "'90s." While terms like these might be technically correct in an extremely broad sense, they miss the essence of what these subcultures, and Pleasures were really all about: a convergence of influences and a dedication to producing something new, different and exicting. 

Pleasures' take on ASICS' early millennial trail running shoe, the GEL-NANDI combines a thoroughly modern sense of technical performance with an uncompromisingly bold aesthetic outlook. Its closest musical analogue would most likely be the aggressive electronica championed by the likes of Massive Attack and Primal Scream in the late-'90s.
