In his five decades in the industry, British designer Nigel Colbourn never cared about passing trends or fly-by-night fashion. Instead, Colbourn has always used history to retell stories with updated takes on tried and true vintage styles.
In his first collaboration with Vans Vault, Cabourn once again turns to his archives for inspiration and presents a capsule collection combining military designs with surf styles of the 1940s to 1970s. Designing three different OG Authentic LX, two Slip-ons and one OG Style 24 LX, Cabourn envisions a soldier customizing his clothing with the style of a street artist. Using rugged textiles inspired by rugs and needlework along with military-inspired brushed and chipped metal vent holes and custom camp linings, each design is unique in their colorways and material makeup, but all are linked through their vintage aesthetic.
Apparel comes in the form of headwear, outerwear and knit tees, once again combining the seriousness of military garb with the laid back vibe of surfwear and the original artwork of Taji Matsuda.
