x Feature SHADOW 5000
The specifics of certain footwear releases may be kept under particularly tight wraps, but compared to the USAF Groom Lake facility in Hiko, Nevada, the denizens of the fashion industry are the rankest of amateurs. Of course, you might know the facility by its more commonly used name, Area 51.
For Las Vegas footwear boutique Feature, the legendary Top Secret level classified instillation isn’t just a short lived meme turned underwhelming “raid,” it is part of the local landscape. Feature have teamed up with Saucony on a sneaker celebration of the imagined goings on at Area 51, the Dreamland Shadow 5000. The Dreamland name comes from one of the numerous unofficial monikers bestowed on the facility, while the design takes its cues from decades’ worth of conspiracy theories and pop culture fantasy weaving.
A black, suede and tumbled leather upper gives off an appropriately sleek, unidentified aircraft vibe, while glow-in-the-dark green accents and reflective 3M detailing add an extraterrestrial touch. Black and yellow caution style striping and signage appears at the heel tabs and tongue label, while heat mapped graphic insoles complete the laboratory motif.
If a size is not listed, it is sold out.
