x Engineered Garments TOR ULTRA LOW
Engineered Garments are no strangers to collaborative projects; designer Daiki Suzuki’s elegantly, innovative, reconstructed takes on classic menswear makes Engineered Garments a highly regarded and sought after collaborative partner.
The latest Engineered Garments collaborative offering comes courtesy of performance running shoe brand Hoka. Founded in 2009, Hoka footwear defied the minimalist design dominating the running world in the most extreme possible way. The “maximalist” cushioning of Hoka footwear offered more cushioning than any other shoe, period, while maintaining an overall light weight. The exaggerated outsole required to accommodate the extra cushioning quickly became Hoka’s visual signature, something that made clear that this is a different kind of shoe.
The Hoka x Engineered Garments Tor Ultra Low EG applies the elevated utilitarianism of Engineered Garments to a rugged hiking silhouette. The modern, aggressively rugged design of the Tor Ultra Low features a vented upper and waterproof bootie construction allowing for simultaneous breathability and weather resistance, atop an ultra cushioned EVA midsole and maximum traction, tread patterned, Vibram outsole. The tonal colorways of the black and tan variants render the outdoors performance looks of the Tor Ultra Low in a chic, minimalist style, while a tonal black with vibrant red variant is a sophisticated take on a classic performance colorway.
