x Bristol Studio SHOOTING TEE
Adidas Consortium teams up with Los Angeles lifestyle brand/design house, Bristol Studio on a stylish reimagining of early 2000’s basketball style.
Just in case you missed it the first time around, the prevailing aesthetic around the turn of the millennium did not put all that much stock into subtlety. Bright colors, oversized fits, lots of man-made textiles and aggressive shapes were the order of the day. Even the established classics were caught up in the wave; just look what happened to the way that jeans and white tees fit during that time.
Bristol Studio have accomplished the notable feat of applying modern, minimalist principles to this outsized era with a capsule collection consisting of two Crazy 8 variants, a high top and low top, and a range of basketball court apparel: jersey, shorts, warm up jacket, pants, and shooting shirt.
The bold, wavy Crazy 8 silhouettes are outfitted in a soft, muted palette, and rendered in a blend of hairy, nubuck suede and performance knit, along with an updated Boost sole.
The collection’s apparel utilizes early 2000’s appropriate crinkle nylon, but opts for neutral colors and categorically less voluminous tailoring. Now that it’s possible to stream a library of tens of thousands of songs, it really isn’t necessary for your pants to be able to store fifty or so compact disc cases.
