This may be the first collaboration between Vans artist and musician Anderson .Paak, but it isn’t, technically, the beginning of their professional relationship. That’s because .Paak actually once worked retail at Vans’ Topanga Canyon, California location, before a multi-Grammy award winning musical catalog set the stage for a leap to Global Music Ambassador.

The Vans x Anderson .Paak collection channels the anything goes creativity that defines Vans, and .Paak’s artistic output, through visual motifs inspired by their shared, Southern California lineage.

An Old Skool DX takes its cues from .Paak’s debut album, Venice, with a multicolored, multipattern, psychedelic print. The use of 3D and digital printing adds a (literal) new dimension to the Off the Wall ethos, by creating texture and depth. The Sid DX is informed by the 2016 album Malibu. A bold, wavy, embroidered chenille pattern, featuring the ‘90s era flying V logo, is applied to this alternative era skate favorite. Both models feature custom message tongue labels, translucent waffle soles, and matching pattern dust bags.
