x A Ma Maniere CRAZY BYW
A Ma Maniére is, loosely translated, French, for ‘my way.’ This individualistic temperament referred to founder James Whitner’s goal of propagating and celebrating high end, cutting edge fashion in cities that were completely off the hype driven grid. With locations in Atlanta and Washington D.C., A Ma Maniére has established itself as not only a successful retailer, but a respected tastemaker.
A Ma Maniére’s latest collaborative release with Adidas showcases their commitment to cultured style, with a hint of the unexpected, with a refined, modern, minimalist inspired take on a radical basketball shoe design.
Even amongst its visually brash contemporaries, 1997’s Crazy 8 stood out, thanks to the segmented sole construction of the natural motion technology system ‘Feet You Wear.’ The innovative functional approach was reinforced by a distinctive wavy design motif. A Ma Maniére refines this distinctive look into a modern, minimalism inspired silhouette.
The updated BYW, or Boost You Wear, variant of the Crazy 8 equips the pod like segments of the sole with full length Boost cushioning serves as the base for a neoprene bootie construction upper with premium nubuck suede and leather overlays. The luxurious, streamlined execution is reinforced with a color palette that places deep purple shades alongside soft neutrals.
