Don’t be fooled by the sensible, retro looks of the Saucony Azura. When this lightweight running shoe debuted back in 1988, it came with an ad campaign that took direct aim at what Saucony deemed the “hype and hot air” of competitors. More importantly, it came with technological innovations and Saucony’s legacy of high performance design.
The original Azura featured a compression molded EVA midsole, ‘Stabil Wrap’ support functionality, a triangular lug outsole, a microsuede and performance mesh upper and a molded Kevlar version of Saucony’s shock dispersing, energy returning Torsional Rigidity Bar support system, allowing the silhouette to shed weight and increase flexibility without sacrificing support.
The reissued Azura features an old-school running colorway, and makes for a welcome addition to Saucony’s lineup of “no-nonsense innovation” classic runners.
