A couple of years back, the Air Max 270 debuted by introducing the largest ever visible Air heel unit ever utilized by Nike. To kick off a new decade, the Air Max 270 has been updated with new features and aesthetics that build on its legacy of visual envelope pushing.
To start, the distinctive Air unit has been applied in conjunction with Nike’s responsive, user data driven React sole, for an ultra-modern hybrid style. The redesign takes an even more radical form on the 270’s upper, where the open plan breathability has been swapped for a more solid mesh base, featuring wavy lines, inspired by the reflection and refraction of light, in a style reminiscent of aggressive, late 90s Nike classics like the Air Max Plus and the Air Max Tailwind IV.
The overhauled design is emphasized with a sleek application of a classic, old school sports combination of burgundy and grey.
