With new creative director Yuni Ahn at the helm, Maison Kitsune’s Autumn/Winter 2019 collection introduces new influences to the familiar, lighthearted preppy wavelength that Maison Kitsuné have made their own over the years. Although some might find this new direction surprising, it actually stems from the label’s own DNA, with the electronic dance music scene that co-founder Gildas Loaëc traversed as Daft Punk’s manager, providing the visual cues. The spirit of versatility remains in place, but the execution now includes the contemporary edge of global, urban style.
The windbreaker timelessness and functionality is reworked with an added retro feel of a vintage baseball jacket.
