What began as an ever-expanded creative crew of graffiti artists led by teenage runaway, Kunle Martins (aka Earsnot), would in time go on to include some of the world’s most influential street artists. IRAK, a shortened reference to the street vernacular for shoplifting, combined early members Sacer/Dash Snow, Semen Sperms, Nekst, Adek, Screw and Espo, with the likes of KR, Jason Dill, Dan Colen and Ryan McGinley, to form a creative collective that would be known around the world.
In the early 2000s, as many of these artists were starting to gain the respect of the more conservative (and, well, legal) art worlds, IRAK artists began getting their own gallery shows and Earsnot ventured into starting his own label. While the IRAK brand would undergo a hiatus, it was relaunched in 2019 to another round of intrigue and acclaim.
