VINTAGE PANTHER PATCH HOODY
VINTAGE PANTHER PATCH HOODY
-
The brainchild of designer Hardy Blechman, Maharishi has produced its award-winning pacifist military designs since 1994. The roots of Maharishi, and offshoot label MHI, lay in Blechman’s former career in the military surplus clothing trade, which inspired Blechman to take the concept of repurposing to a new level.
This MAHAPATCHCO. hoody features an upcycled 1944 U.S. Army embroidered chest patch. The mint deadstock U.S. Army patch was part of a cache discovered by the MAHAPATCHCO, manufactured between the 1940s-60s. Many of the stock boxes are dated 1944, suggesting the Army Stores were well over stocked when WW2 ended in 1945. Large stockpiles of unissued military uniforms, patches and insignia were also abandoned during the speedy withdrawal from the Vietnam War.- Vintage surplus patch
