The original Fast Rider, released in 1980, was Puma's first foray into the jogging market. European designed running shoes of the era were typically intended for use on the somewhat softer terrain of trails or grass, road running being an American innovation. Although the original silhouette looks simplistic by modern standards, the shock absorbing Federbein sole was a technological leap, as well as a distinctive design feature.
Nearly 40 years on, the Fast Rider has been reinvented as the Style Rider by Puma. A slimmer outsole, contemporary upper design with leather and suede overlays, Rider foam and a vibrant application of color bring this old school classic into a new era.
