Nike Sportswear’s special projects division introduces ISPA: Improvise, Scavenge, Protect, Adapt, an adaptive design philosophy intended to respond to the constantly shifting demands placed on footwear and user by their surrounding, natural environment. ISPA offers a flexible, experimental approach to both new technological innovations and long-established design conventions, based on the principle that a state of constant flux can never settle for a permanent, single ‘right’ answer.

The debut of the ISPA imprint features an outdoors minded twist on the user data driven, comfort and performance optimizing design of the Nike React Element silhouette. The distinctive sole unit serves as the base for a deconstructed upper with a waterproof shell and trail inspired rope lacing, for a fully functional, stylistically multifaceted modern minimalism.
