PALO SANTO PACK
Enigmatically organic, The Good Company's ever-expanding tastemaker status stems entirely from their strong, local roots. A Lower East Side based storefront operation, The Good Company is part retail, part art clubhouse, as a mix of established names and young creative energy come together to create a distinctly positive, laid back vibe.
Palo Santo ("Holy Sticks") are cut from the Bursera graveolens, a tree native to the seasonally dry forests of Honduras, Colombia, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Peru, Ecuador, Venezuela and the Yucatan Peninsula. The tree in question is from the same family as frankincense and myrrh and, in turn, has a similar unique and bold fragrance.
Often used in ritual purification by a shaman (and now by common folk like us), the sticks are lit like incense, creating a pleasant smell, which according to legend, rids the general area of bad energy.
In Peru, medicine men claim the resulting rising smoke will enter the "energy field" of ritual participants to "clear misfortune, negative thoughtprints, and 'evil spirits'."
Light up and let the good vibes prevail.
