The Bruin was the very first basketball silhouette from Nike. In 1972, when the Bruin first appeared, there was very little in the way of variety on the basketball market, so when Portland Trail Blazers guard Geoff Petrie debuted the swoosh branded low tops, it made quite a splash. The Bruin gave Nike inroads into supplying college basketball teams with footwear, and quickly became a staple on courts across the country.
This suede edition of the Bruin oozes effortless, casual style.
