In the mid-1980s, there was a fictional shoe of the future that appeared in a popular time travel based movie. Then there was the legitimate shoe of the future, the Adidas Micropacer, a computer equipped running shoe that measured exercise statistics like distance run and calories burned.
Sure, over the course of three decades, technology has long since advanced, and even the most basic smart device measures more data than a circa 1984 processor, but still, it’s just not right for such a groundbreaking shoe to be 100% consigned to the realm of retro.
To that end, Adidas has reimagined the Micropacer as the Futurepacer. A reflective, white upper rendered in premium leather and nubuck, and Boost cushioning bring this icon of progress out of the hypersleep pod and into a new era.
