In 1975, around the time Gates and Jobs were starting technology legacies in their garages, armed with $300 in his pocket, James Jannard was about to revolutionize another industry, out of his. Named after his Irish Setter "Oakley Anne", Oakley started in the BMX and motocross game with grips, pads, goggles, and other accessories before hitting their sunglass stride. Their first pair was made in 1984 and called the Factory Pilot Eyeshades. This was followed by the Oakley Frogskin in 1985. Now at this point, there are very few brands where you could leave off with 'and the rest is history' but, well...if the eyewear fits...
