  • The brainchild of designer Hardy Blechman, Maharishi has produced its award-winning pacifist military designs since 1994.  The roots of Maharishi, and offshoot label MHI, lay in Blechman’s former career in the military surplus clothing trade, which inspired Blechman to take the concept of repurposing to a new level.

Inspired by the vintage Japanese repair and re-use technique, these reproduction 1960s U.S. Navy Utility pants have been modified to shorts and pockets have been replaced with panels of Yard - The Montagnard, French for ‘mountain people’ also referred to as ‘yard’, have a deep history in the hand weaving of cotton fabrics.
