AW LOGO CREW
For a brand that sprang from Adi Dassler’s obsession with specialized, performance, athletic footwear, Adidas have have been ahead of the curve when it comes to fashion for a long time. Even before fashion designers were brought into the fold, footwear models ranging from high-end tennis shoes and state of the art runners, to ultra-specific models for lawn bowling and handball were coveted objects on city streets all over the world, and three stripes branded apparel was the final word in leisurewear.
Fast forward a few decades, and these sportswear essentials aren’t just something to throw on; they are an integral part of contemporary fashion. For Spring 2017, Adidas has once again enlisted the services of design luminary Alexander Wang, on a collection that takes on timeless pieces from the Adidas archives.
Athletic staples like tracksuits, sweats, shorts, soccer jerseys, and polos are reinterpreted through the high fashion lens of Alexander Wang. The combination of familiar silhouettes and cutting edge aesthetics is signified by a flipped variant of the iconic Trefoil logo.
