AIR MAX 90 QS
Since, at least, The War of the Worlds was published, and possibly since Giovanni Schiaparelli’s observation of ‘channels’ on Mars was mistranslated into English as ‘canals,’ Mars has been held up as an object of fascination in culture. While none of the nefarious invasions or human colonies of speculative science fiction have materialized, the dream of a manned Mars landing retains a grip on the human imagination.
Until then, Nike provides the next best thing, the Mars Landing Air Max 90.
A successor to the legendary 2014, Air Max Lunar90 release, the Mars landing continues the all-over print, space exploration motif. A seamless upper features a graphic print of the red planet’s surface, painstakingly complied from archived images of Mars, a Mars Rover inspired outsole pattern and reflective elements are a nod to unmanned Mars explorations, and metallic silver tongue labels and black, speckled midsole provide sleek details that tie the outer space imagery together.
