AIR JORDAN 9 RETRO
The Air Jordan 9 marked the first release from Team Jumpman that MJ would never get the chance to wear on the court as a Chicago Bull. If he had, however, this is probably what the colorway would have looked like.
First released in 1993, the AJ IX followed Jordan’s third straight championship and his subsequent retirement. Although Jordan’s absence from the court could be felt all over the league, the Jordan brand forged on with stars like Penny Hardaway, Kendall Gill, BJ Armstrong, and Mitch Richmond each wearing the new silhouette in the NBA, and a high school athlete named LeBron James wearing a white/green/gold version during his games for St. Vincent-St. Mary.
Paying tribute to the shoe that he may very well have worn if he hadn’t sought out early retirement, this Air Jordan 9 starts off with a white leather base, with contrast added via black eyelets, heel loop and Jumpman branding on the midsole. The shoe is then finishing off with shiny, gym red, patent leather overlays and a matching high gloss red midsole. A rubberized globe and 23 on the heel add some key branding touches.
If a size is not listed, it is sold out.
