Justin Timberlake, global pop star and triple threat, has been a longstanding Jordan fan, ever since he was a young Tennessee boy. In 2003, the singer teamed up with Jordan Brand, creating the “Legends Of The Summer” PE collection with an array of classic silhouettes presented in bright, University Red colorways. However, the Jordan/Timberlake collaboration never truly became mainstream until February of 2018, when Timberlake worked with Jordan Brand legend, Tinker Hatfield, to create a brand-new pair of Air Jordan 3s (termed the “JTH” or “Two Minute Warning”), which Timberlake sported on stage at the Super Bowl 52 halftime show. When the shoes were eventually dropped to the public, they sold out almost instantly, establishing Timberlake as one of Jordan Brand’s leading collaborators this year. 

In order to maintain the heat surrounding their partnership, the singer and legendary brand have teamed up yet again to bring the highly-anticipated, “Bio Beige” JTH 3s. Unlike the first design, which was created to bring a modern take to an old classic, the “Bio Beige” 3s are an extensively personalized shoe, as it draws inspiration from the song “Higher Higher”, a song dedicated to his wife, that is featured on his renowned Man of the Woods album. 

In order to represent the nature and rawness of the album by creating a luxury, yet rugged and handmade-like shoe, the silhouette is emphasized with rich suede and raw leather materials in Bio Beige, Black Elephant, and White. While still featuring the original Black and White leather, Nike detailing on the back heel, the shoe contains modern, original twists, like classic Orange colored under-tongue, and a handful of Bright Green/Yellow lacing holes to add unique detail. Moreover, the shoe features suede/leather laces (with extra orange and tan lacing inside), Tinker Hatfield’s signature under the tongue, and a Tinker Hatfield tag attached to the left lacing system. It is then finished off with with the word “HIGHER” pressed onto the medial ankle, and the phrases “FAME IS A LIE” and “STRESS IS CRUEL”, in order to represent Timberlake’s belief that “money, fame, success are all fleeting, whereas a real relationship will last forever in the long haul”.
