Employing graphics as edgy and unapologetically audacious as their chosen nomenclature — which, due to the expletive involved, is often shortened to FA— Fucking Awesome is not only a skate company, but a noted fashion brand. Run by former Alien Workshop and Supreme skater Jason Dill, alongside friend/director Mike Piscitelli and former Skater Of The Year, Anthony Van Engelen (aka AVE), FA has, in time, gone from a low-output, bedroom screen-press project to a full-fledged operation.
Though all of his pieces have a deeply personal, hands on energy to them, Dill's new Prince Street Photo Book takes the DIY aesthetic that the brand was founded on to another level. Made up from never-before-seen 35mm photographs from decades spent traveling the world, the book is a glimpse into life from Dill's perspective. And although it technically has nothing to do with skateboarding, his style on and off the board has famously been influenced by the world outside of skating, and therefore informs the audience more than any skate content could.
