UPCYCLED KIMONO LINER
When quilted jacket liners being worn as standalone outerwear arose from the world of military centered fashion, it was like the F-86 Sabre and MiG-15 ushering in the jet fighter age in the 1950s. Maharishi applying their renowned upcylcing reconstruction techniques is more like the late 80s introduction of supersonic heavy bombers B-1B Lancer and Tu-160 Blackjack; it was previously unimaginable, right up until it wasn't.
Recycled military surplus has always been a permanent feature of maharishi's mainline collection, including vintage surplus items that are recut and updated with accessory and cord systems.
These processes are carried out in India, where the clothing is smudged with herbal incense, blessed, and washed in saffron water to symbolically cleanse it of its military associations. Due to the surplus garments and fabrics used, each piece is slightly different and details such as military insignia/patches may differ.
