x Lapstone & Hammer COURAGEOUS MOC
Saucony, having been based in the Bay State for the past half century, are, undoubtedly, proud Massachusettsans, but the story of one of the world's premier athletic shoe manufacturers actually began in Kutztown, Pennsylvania. The name Saucony is taken from the tributary that flows through the borough.
A new collaborative release returns Saucony to its Pennsylvania roots, as Philadelphia based, premium sportswear imprint Lapstone & Hammer are brought on board to rework one of Saucony's classic, archival running silhouettes, the Courageous. The performance heritage of the Courageous is transformed into luxurious elegance that shows off the best of both brands.
Lapstone & Hammer are named for traditional cobblers tools. Subsequently, their distinctive take on the Courageous is focused on timeless, enduring craftsmanship. Premium materials abound with the utilization of silkee and mammoth suedes, horween and goat leather, calfskin lining and vegtan accents. The centerpiece of the design is a hand stitched, whip stitched moccasin toe. Finishing touches are provided by embroidered detailing, cork and EVA molded midsoles and rawhide and waxed cotton lace options.
