G-Shock watches hardly need an introduction. Their appeal is obvious; they are one of the few products in the world that can call itself battle tested, and mean it literally. G-Shock watches haven’t adopted a rugged aesthetic as a marketing angle, they really have been, and continue to be used by deep sea divers, special forces soldiers, and astronauts.
Their unique look is a byproduct of being constructed to stand up to the punishing demands that these professions dole out to a watch, and still keep precise time.
This limited release sees G-Shock joining forces with the timeless art of Keith Haring, a fellow icon from the 1980s. Starting his career doing graffiti art in New York City subways, Keith Haring achieved international acclaim in the 1980s and was one of the decade’s most successful and recognizable artists. Haring passed away in 1990, and this collaboration is a partnership with the Keith Haring Foundation.
The Keith Haring x G-Shock collaboration includes two watches with custom faces and bands: a red DW-5600 with various Haring paintings in white and a white DW-5600 with dancing men in three colors. The watches also have special case backs with an engraved Keith Haring signature and custom EL backlights.
